Linn County COVID-19 Case Count Reaches 200

The Linn County COVID-19 Count reached 200 confirmed, and presumptive cases as of 12:01 am today according to the daily report from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)*. There were four new cases reported in Linn County in the past day.

Linn Benton New Case rate 1/3 of Statewide Rate

The rate of new cases for both Linn and Benton Counties remains significantly lower, only one-third of the statewide rate. In the past week, the count for the two County area increased by 1.4 cases per 10,000 persons versus 5.1 cases Statewide.

In Eastern Oregon, outbreaks in Pendleton and Hermiston resulted in a new case rate for Umatilla County 25 times that of Linn County. Umatilla County reports 1,340 COVID-19 cases for its 80,000 population, 299 in the past week alone, 37 new cases per 10,000 persons.

Linn County’s COVID-19 Cumulative Rate of 15.9 Cases Count per 10,000 persons is about one half the statewide rate of 34.8. There are 14,579 cases statewide.

Benton County’s COVID-19 rate is even lower at 13.7. cases per 10,000 persons. There are 128 cases in Benton County. About one third (32%) have recovered. 

Benton County reports six and Linn County 10 deaths from the COVID-19 virus.

Linn-Benton Counties: 3 New COVID-19 Cases

Benton County reported one and Linn County two new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 as of 12:01 am today (7/15/2020 according to the daily report from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA). *

Linn County’s COVID-19 rate of 14.7 Cases Count per 10,000 persons is below half the statewide rate of 30.9. The recovery rate for Linn County is 42% of the 186 cases. Statewide only 24% have recovered.*

Benton County’s COVID-19 rate is even lower at 12.2. cases per 10,000 persons. There are 117 cases in Benton County. About one third (32%) have recovered.

Linn-Benton COVID-19 Cases: 300, 5 New

Benton County reported thee, and Linn County two new confirmed and presumptive OVID-19 as of 12:01 am today according to the daily report from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA). *

The combined Linn-Benton county rate of infection is 13.7 cases per 10,000 persons (300 cases). Of the 300 cases, almost four out of ten (38%) have recovered. Statewide 24% have recovered according to OHA**.

The rate in Linn County is 14.5 per 10,000 persons (184 cases). In comparison, Benton County's COVID-19 rate is 15% lower, 12.3 per 10,000 (116 cases).  The Statewide COVID-19 rate of 30.2 cases per 10,000 persons is more than twice that of Linn and Benton Counties. OHA reported 380 new cases statewide, bringing the total to 12,805.

The highest rates in Oregon are in four Eastern Oregon Counties (Union, Umatilla, Malheur and Morrow) where the case count is now over 2,000 with a population of only 151,000 (see map below). The rates in the all four counties is over 130 persons per 10,000. Umatilla County which is comprised of Hermiston, Umatilla and Pendleton topped 1,000 cases two days ago.

Note than Benton Country reported three new cases, but the County case count increased by only one, to 116.

Marion County reported 46 additional cases to its COVID-19 Case total, which will cross the two-thousand count within the next two days. The virus is almost four more prevalent in Marion County compared to Linn County at 55.8 cases per 10,000.

Lane county meanwhile has the lighter distribution of reported COVID-19 cases with 8.4 cases per 10,000.

Linn And Benton Counties Report 8 New COVID-19 Cases

Linn County added two and Benton County six COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours according to the daily report (7/11/2020 12:01 am) from the  Oregon Health Authority.  The combined county total of 286 cases is a rate of 13.0 cases per 10,000 persons.

The rate in Linn County is 13.9 per 10,000 persons (174 cases). In comparison , Benton Counties COVID-19 rate is 14% lower, 12.0 per 10,000 (112 cases).  

In the OHA Weekly report (77) by Zip Code, Albany has reported 97 cases, 21 new cases, and Lebanon 10 cases in the past week, as noted in OHA's 7/8/2020 weekly Count. Reporting one to nine cases each: Brownsville, Halsey, Scio, Sweet Home, Tangent and Harrisburg .**

The Statewide COVID-19 rate of 28.2 cases per 10,000 persons is more than twice that of Linn and Benton Counties. The Oregon State total- 11,851 cases.

Marion County reported 61 new cases. The county COVID-19 Case total is a few days from reaching 2,000 with the current total 1,831 cases. The virus is 3.8 times more prevalent in Marion County compared to Linn County at 53.2 cases per 10,000 (1743 cases).

Lane county meanwhile has the lighter distribution of reported COVID-19 cases with 7.8 cases per 10,000.

Due to the outbreak at Pacific Seafood in Newport of 180** cases, Lincoln Counties Rate of 74.9 per 10,000 is more than five times that of the Linn-Benton County rate.

The earlier outbreaks at the Oregon Veterans' Home in Lebanon (8 deaths, 38 cases) and National Frozen Foods (41 cases) are classified as "Resolved", according to OHA**.
