Linn County COVID-19 Case Count Reaches 200

The Linn County COVID-19 Count reached 200 confirmed, and presumptive cases as of 12:01 am today according to the daily report from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)*. There were four new cases reported in Linn County in the past day.

Linn Benton New Case rate 1/3 of Statewide Rate

The rate of new cases for both Linn and Benton Counties remains significantly lower, only one-third of the statewide rate. In the past week, the count for the two County area increased by 1.4 cases per 10,000 persons versus 5.1 cases Statewide.

In Eastern Oregon, outbreaks in Pendleton and Hermiston resulted in a new case rate for Umatilla County 25 times that of Linn County. Umatilla County reports 1,340 COVID-19 cases for its 80,000 population, 299 in the past week alone, 37 new cases per 10,000 persons.

Linn County’s COVID-19 Cumulative Rate of 15.9 Cases Count per 10,000 persons is about one half the statewide rate of 34.8. There are 14,579 cases statewide.

Benton County’s COVID-19 rate is even lower at 13.7. cases per 10,000 persons. There are 128 cases in Benton County. About one third (32%) have recovered. 

Benton County reports six and Linn County 10 deaths from the COVID-19 virus.
